"Om Namah Shivaya" bracelet

Its festival season here in India! 2 days back we had Raksha Bandhan... Also colloquially known as rakhi, this festival is about sisters praying for a long life filled with health and prosperity for their brothers. The day starts with traditional puja's followed by a ceremony wherein the sister starts with applying red kumkum mixed with water and rice grains to her brothers forehead, following it with an aarti from a small camphor lit flame. She then offers her brother some sweet delicacies and ties a sacred thread as a symbol of her prayers on to her brothers wrist. It also carries the promose from her brothers part, to protect and care for her always.

We at girdharilal uphold this spirit of love, and had a special Raksha Bandhan theme running in our store. Our designers specially designed beaded and sterling silver rakhi's. Every sister wishes par excellence for her brother. It goes without saying that we would provide her with a variety of designs in silver to match the purity of her love for her brother.

We would like to showcase one of our designs, that generated the most interest and sale... This is often known as a kada. A silver band worn by men on their wrists, it carries a sacred inscription in Hindi spelling 'OM NAMAH SHIVAYA'. It is a prayer dedicated to lord shiva that is believed to bring blessings and divine powers.

We also customise these inscriptions and can engrave an inscription of your choice as well. Do let us know what you think of the piece, and contact us for orders and customised requests.
